West district police solve armed robbery case, 6 held

New Delhi: The West district police successfully solved a case of an armed robbery in Naraina area. The investigating agency arrested six persons including a jeweller who purchased the stolen property. During the probe, the technical analysis helped the investigators in solving the case.

Police identified the accused as Kasim Ansari, Mohammad Razi, Mamoon Ahmed, Tasleem, Fardeen Siddiqui and Bal Kishan (jeweller). Deputy Commissioner of Police (west) Deepak Purohit said that the accused got the information about the valuables in the house from a carpenter. He will be arrested soon.

"Some furniture work was going on inside the complainant's house. The carpenter informed the accused that one elderly woman lives in the house while her daughter-in-law lives on another floor," said DCP West.

After getting the information, the accused entered the house and committed robbery.

According to police, on September 6 at about 11:30 am, a PCR call was received at Naraina police station regarding a robbery in a house in Naraina Vihar.

The complainant was found present along with her family members at the spot. "Her statement was recorded wherein she stated that today while she was present at her house along with her daughter-in-law and maid, two boys entered their house at about 11 am and confined the elderly woman and her maid to the kitchen," said an officer.

Adding further, the officer said that one of them put the pistol on her head while the other caught hold of the maid. Both the boys forcefully took away jewellery and Rs 1,50,000 cash which was kept in the house.

After the robbery, the accused confined the elderly woman and her maid in a room and fled away from the spot.

During investigation, CCTV footages of the area and nearby roads and CDR were collected and later analyzed. "After the detailed analysis, one of the accused Razi was identified based on his social media account and from the CCTV footage analysis, his motorcycle number was zeroed down," said DCP West. Raids were conducted at various places and the accused were arrested from South East and North East Delhi. One country-made pistol, jewellery of 148.990 gms and one lakh cash recovered.
