Wanted criminal arrested after encounter with police

Noida: A wanted criminal with a bounty of Rs 25,000 on his head was arrested after an encounter with police on late Wednesday night from sector 58 area of Noida.
The accused, Lalit, a native of Sambal district, was at large after allegedly killing a man and injuring his father during robbery attempt at a shop. Officials said that the arrested accused, earlier, fled away during an encounter with police however his accomplice was nabbed.
The arrest was made from Mamura area by the team of sector 58 police station on Wednesday night. On November 2 2014, a man named Pankaj was shot dead and his father sustained bullet injuries after they resisted the robbery attempt in Basai village of Noida.
Police said that the accused was at large after the incident while his other three accomplice were nabbed by police.
"All the four assailants involved in the robbery incident, including a woman, were close relatives. Pan Singh, his wife and their son was earlier arrested by police while Singh's brother-in-law Lalit was arrested on Wednesday night. The accused will be sent to the jail after producing before the court," said Anil Pratap Singh, SHO, sector 58 police station.
A country made pistol and two live ammunition have been recovered from the possession of the accused, said police.
