NEW DELHI: A video clip gone viral on Wednesday afternoon shows traffic cops manhandling a man in Ranjit Nagar area of central Delhi on Wednesday afternoon.
The exact reason behind the incident is yet to be determined, sources said.
The incident was filmed on mobile by a bystander in the crowd and shows two traffic policemen slapping and chasing a man, who was accompanied by a woman, in Ranjit Nagar. Later, the lady is seen trying to slap the policemen.
The man then falls down at some distance, after being chased by the cops, who then dragged him by his trousers along the ground.
As bystanders watched the entire episode, some filmed it and sent it across social media, making it viral in a few hours.
A senior police officer claimed, "The altercation started after the traffic cops tried to check the documents of the couple on the scooty, which took an ugly turn."
He added that a Head Constable Rajender made a PCR call about the incident and police are now investigating the case.
