Two young brothers die as speeding vehicle rams into their bike

Ghaziabad: Two young brothers have died after a horrific hit-and-run incident at elevated road in Vasundhara area of Ghaziabad on late Thursday night.

The victims –identified as 21-year-old Jaipal and 18-years-old Santlal were returning to their home in Gazhipur area of Delhi after supplying milk, when an unidentified vehicle rammed into their two-wheeler.

Police said that Jaipal owned a milk dairy while Santlal was a student in class 12th at a private school. They added that the duo were returning back to their home from Ghaziabad via elevated road when a speeding vehicle collided into their bike in sector 6 area of Vasundhara at elevated road.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 10 pm on Thursday, however, the duo of brothers died while getting treatment at the hospital.

"Passersby conveyed the information to police, following which a team rushed to the spot. The victims were immediately taken to a nearby private hospital where both succumbed to injuries while getting treatment at around 3 am on Friday," said a senior police official.

Cops said that the unidentified vehicle dragged the two wheeler to some distance before coming to a stop. The driver of unidentified vehicle sped away, however, some passersby spotted the body lying on road and informed police. They added that a case under relevant sections of IPC has been registered against the unidentified driver of the car.

"Based on the compliant received, we have registered a case under relevant sections of IPC against the driver of unidentified vehicle. As of now we don't know about the vehicle that caused accident but we are investigating the matter and are looking into CCTV footage of the elevated road," said Sachin Malik, station house officer, Indirapuram police station.
