Two women suffer burn injuries after acid attack

New Delhi: Two women suffered burn injuries after an acid like substance was thrown on them in Central Delhi's Paharganj area. According to police, a PCR call was received that someone has tried to throw acid on caller's sister. On reaching the spot, it was found that two women aged 24 and 50 years were sleeping in a single room jhuggi near Paharganj when they were attacked.
"At around 1.45 am, someone threw acid from outside the gate which was bolted from inside. The victims have been living in the shanty for last several months. One of the victims was having strained relation with her husband who is bad character of the area and resident of the same locality," police said.
"The woman has alleged that her husband threw acid on her. One of the women, has received 45 per cent burn injury including right side of her face while the other one has sustained 40 per cent burn injury. The injuries are seemingly superficial. A case u/s 326A IPC is being registered investigation is being taken up," police further claimed.
