Two sharp shooters held for murder of Noida's land mafia

Noida: The police on Monday night arrested two hired sharp shooters from sector 49 area of Noida in connection with the murder of the infamous Noida's land mafia Motilal Goyal. Police said that the two sharp shooters were hired for five lakh each.
According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Amit and Rahul, both native of Greater Noida. The duo was hired by a dreaded criminal from Dankaur who is absconding.
Goyal was shot several times while he was supervising the construction work of a commercial plaza near Salarpur road on April 16. Police said that the shooters had made several attempts in past to kill Goel but could succeed.
"The arrest was made from sector 49 area of Noida after we acted upon a tip-off that the three accused traveling on a motorcycle would reach sector 71, following which police teams were deployed to check vehicle. The two were spotted by police and were signaled to stop, but they opened fire on police," said Arun Kumar Singh, superintendent of police, Noida.
"After a brief encounter, the two accused were arrested while one miscreant managed to flee away. Police recovered the .30 carbine pistol from their possession along with a country made pistol," added Singh.
During interrogation, the accused revealed that they were hired by a person Harender, who was a former councillor and also a wanted criminal of Greater Noida, for Rs 5 lakh each to eliminate Goyal.
