Two minor commit suicide, suspected to be depressed after their exam results
New Delhi: A minor boy committed suicide in Kakrola area of Dwarka district. It is being suspected that the reason behind the suicide can be securing less percentage in the Class-10 result. Police claimed that they are verifying the facts. In another case, a girl hanged herself to death due to low percentage of marks in South-West Delhi.
According to police, the deceased lived with his family in Kakrola Mod area and was studying in Class-10. The incident came to light when the police team received a PCR call in the afternoon about the suicide and the victim was rushed to the hospital where he was declared brought dead.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shibesh Singh stated that before the incident the deceased had checked his board result and then went to the second floor of the house. "His brother was there who came to the ground floor for some work and when he returned to the floor, he found his brother hanging," said the DCP. He alerted everyone about the incident. The boy is reported to have got 59 per cent marks and was not happy with the result. The deceased's father works in a government office.
In another case, a 15-year-old girl committed suicide by hanging herself to a fan in South West Delhi. Police claimed that after the result she was unhappy with her percentage.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South West) Milind Dumbere stated the girl was studying in Class-10 at Ryan School. on Tuesday, her result was declared and she got 70 per cent marks. She wanted to pursue science but there was no hope due to the low percentage of marks. Her father works with Enforcement Directorate as an enforcement officer.
