Toll rates for commercial and heavy vehicles increased

Toll rates for the commercial vehicles will be increased starting from April 1. 

Based on the revision of new rates, light commercial vehicles will now be paying Rs 90 per trip while heavy commercial vehicles like trucks and buses will be paying Rs 185 per trip.

Earlier the LCV's had to pay Rs 85 while heavy commercial vehicles paid Rs 175 per trip.

There have been no change in fare for passenger vehicles and the commuters using passenger vehicles will continue to pay Rs 60 per trip.
According to NHAI officials, the rates have been revised based on the RBI data of inflation.

More than two lakh vehicles pass through the Kherki Daula toll plaza and about 75,000 vehicles pay the toll daily.

Even though it is has not been officially confirmed, the State Government and NHAI have decided to shift the toll plaza from Kherki Daula to Bilaspur in the coming few months.

For long the commuters and industrial associations have been demanding the removal of the toll at Kherki Daula.
