New Delhi: Delhi Police on Tuesday said that they have arrested three snatchers from the area of North East Delhi. Police identified the accused as Zakir (28), Sumit (30) and Shahbaz (22).The accused were nabbed on the basis of an information that they were present at Brahmpuri area.
"A trap was laid at the spot. All three were going somewhere on their bike when they were arrested," police said. The motor cycle did not have its number plate. Later during investigation, it was found that the bike was stolen from Krishna Nagar area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (North East) Ved Prakash Surya said that the accused were involved in several other cases of motor vehicle theft and mobile theft. On their disclosure and pointing out, a total of six motor cycles, scooties and four mobile phones were recovered from their possession. "A total of 6 cases of MV Theft and 4 cases of mobile theft have been worked out. Further investigation is in progress," said Surya.
The accused further disclosed that they have committed MV theft and mobile theft in the area of North East District, Shahdara District, East District and North District. All three accused persons wanted to make quick money and fell in bad company and started committing theft.
