New Delhi: Residents of Delhi are not just dealing with hot and blistering summers but also a sudden spurt in back to back robberies in the capital.
The way people are being robbed on road, shops and inside their houses has certainly sent the alarm bells ringing in the Delhi Police force.
The latest horror has been the menace of three bikers who have been on a rampage on Delhi streets, looting people inside their parking space in Model Town and a medical store at New Friends Colony's Sarai Jullena a day after.
In both cases, the robbers held victims hostage on gunpoint for nearly two minutes. The same set of robbers also fired on a police party which challenged them near Adarsh Nagar in North West Delhi.
They fled unhurt leaving the cops in a tizzy. The robbers involved in a robbery with an event manager in Pandav nagar also hold similarity with the three accused as two of them are wearing stylish caps.
The Delhi Police has roped in Crime branch and Special cell to identify and arrest the accused.
Their body language as seen in the CTV footage is being monitored and informers are roped in to develop some concrete information on them.
The arms suppliers in the jail are also being questioned along with local gangsters.
The boys who look like in their early twenties have become a new challenge for the Delhi police.
The cops are also scanning the possibility of the involvement of a gang which is out on bail or parole and is on a robbing spree.
Police has also scanned the CCTV cameras around the area where these robberies took place to chalk out the possibility of a possible hideout in Delhi.
It is said that the Delhi police has some leads but the 'Masked three' are still on the run.
Since June 15 this year, a total number of 1,043 robberies were committed in Delhi. The Delhi Police has solved 823 of these cases and 1,540 arrests have been made so far.
In 2018, during the same period, 1248 cases of robberies were registered and 1008 cases were solved while 1863 arrests had been made.
