New Delhi: Police busted a syndicate indulging in preparation and selling fake birth certificates of MCD. Police claimed that three persons were arrested from Sangam Vihar area with 46 fake birth certificate and blank forms. The police investigation is on to identify the source in MCD who provides the actual Registration Numbers and the blank performas to one of accused for preparing Birth Certificates.
The accused has been identified as Rajeev Kumar, Anupam and Karan. Additional Commissioner of Police (crime) Rajiv Ranjan stated that team got information regarding preparation and supply of fake Birth Certificates ostensibly issued by MCD by a gang in the area of Tughlqabad Extension in Sangam Vihar, Delhi who took Rs 1,500 to 2,000 to provide a fake Birth Certificates. The team was made under the supervision of Rajesh Deo, DCP/Crime was constituted.
On August 20, a police staff posing as a decoy customer went to the shop to collect the Birth Certificate after making remaining payment. Police claimed that on the instance of the decoy customer, the raid was conducted at the shop and two accused persons named Rajeev Kumar and Anupan were apprehended with two fake Birth Certificates and the currency notes which were given to them by the decoy customer.
