Three arrested for thrashing man in Sangam Vihar

NEW DELHI: South Delhi Police, as part of its drive against criminals, has arrested three wanted criminals and recovered a semi-automatic pistol, a country-made pistol with one live cartridge, two daggers, a sword, a scooty and three iron and wooden sticks from their possession.
The arrested persons were identified as Javed alias Tinku, (22) , Sohan Jha (24) and Neeraj alias Sapola (25), police said on Wednesday.
On the intervening night of December 30 and 31, a quarrel took place in C-Block, Sangam Vihar between Rohit and Javed, both residents of the area.
The scuffle resulted in Javed severely beating up Rohit, who sustained injuries.
A case was then registered at Sangam Vihar and an investigation was started.
On Monday, a trap was laid and around 8.45 pm, based on at tip, a police team intercepted Javed, who was on a white-coloured scooty.
On being searched, the country-made pistol with live cartridge and a dagger was recovered from Javed.
The two other accused were arrested on Tuesday.
"During interrogation, it was revealed that accused Javed alias Tinku is a habitual offender and was previously involved in many criminal cases," said Romil Baaniya, Deputy Commissioner of Police (South Delhi) on Wednesday.
