This gang robbed, snatched over 180 mobiles in one day

New Delhi: Crime Branch of Delhi Police have busted a gang who were involved in 188 cases of mobile snatching and robbery in a single day during Ganpati Mahotsav. They were nabbed from North Delhi area. The accused identified as Nadeem (38) and the juvenile is the members of "Fukrey Gang" involved in snatching and robbery in different states and currently, they are involved in 200 different cases of Mumbai.

Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ajit Singla stated that peviously the gang had operated in Puri, Orissa during the Lord Jagannath Rath yatra and had committed more than 300 cases of mobile snatching and robbery. "On interrogation Nadeem, disclosed involvement in more than 400 incidents of snatching and robbery in different states. He along with his gang members often flew down to their destinations. They selected festival crowds to commit the crime," said Ajit Singla.

Police claimed that in festivals they would enjoy and dance with the crowd and become a part of the celebration. Taking advantage of the jostling crowd they would snatch and rob mobile phones and other valuable from the victims. In a single day during the Ganpati Procession Ceremony, they snatched/robbed more than 180 mobile phones from the area of Kala Chauki, Mumbai.
