New Delhi: Riyazuddin Saifi and Anil Marwa, the two men who are from two different backgrounds, two different locations in Delhi and are also into different set of jobs, are bonded with something in common– their love for Metro. Both Riyazuddin and Anil Marwa are now holding a unique record of being the first passengers in any newly inaugurated Metro line since 2002.
"We met in Metro, we sit together and in fact we love creating this new record of being the first passengers on any new Metro line. I have come from Seelampur to Botanical garden to be the first one to board the Metro train. This is a unique feeling and gives me tremendous satisfaction," grins Riyazuddin Saifi, who runs a business of sewing machines in Seelampur in North East Delhi.
Sitting next to Riyazuddin is Anil Marwa, a middle aged man dressed in a mustard colour shirt and a blue waistcoat. He could not hide his excitement when Millennium Post talks to him.
Marwa says, "We met for the first time in Metro and do not even know each other personally, love for 'being first' in the Metro unites us. I have travelled all over from Vasant Kunj to board the newly inaugurated Magenta Line. I have fortunately been the first passenger to get token to board the new train."
"Since 2002, I and Riyazuddin are the first ones to board any new line," says Anil Marwa, who is a senior manager in an airline. When they heard that Magenta Line is being inaugurated they reached the Botanical Garden station to maintain their unique record. "We are addicted to it now. It's a record of a kind and we wish to carry this forward," added Marwa.
