Gururgam: Tension erupted in Sheetla Mata colony after a group of members protested over the usage of louspeakers from a mosque on Wednesday evening. To prevent the situation from getting deteriorated, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) met the members of both the communities and tried to appease the situation. There were reports that certain members from a community tried to prevent the prayer voice coming from the loudspeaker and also raised the religious slogans.

The matter was prevented from getting worse by the active citizens that were in the area but the tensions remained. After the public administration was apprised of the situation, the DC met both the parties and tried to resolve the situation amicably.

This is the second time when difference due to religious matter have been reported from the Millennium City. Earlier in June the worshippers from a community were prevented from praying on the vacant land. After the matter generated a lot of controversy the District Administration along with the Gurugram police earmarked 37 places for the members to offer the prayers. Even though there have been small incidents of protest no major hue and cry has occurred ever since, even though the displeasure of earmarking the public property has been expressed.
