Stolen from Delhi, phones being sold to truck drivers

New Delhi: Selling stolen phones to truck drivers was the modus operandi of two thieves who were arrested from the Central Delhi on Monday. Police claimed that the thieves used to target I-Phones and they worked on a target to commit seven snatchings every day.

The accused were identified as Manish (23) and Harish (22), both lived in the Shahdara district. The police claimed that the accused used to target wine shops, metro stations and other places where footfall is high.

"They used to identify persons using I-Phones before committing the snatching. These phones were sold for Rs 10,000 to Rs 26,000," said the investigator. The arrest was made by the police team of Daryaganj police station.

The accused used to steal other phones also, which were sold to the highway truck drivers. "The accused thought that the truck drivers will take the stolen phones to other states and it will be tough for the police to trace," added the investigator.

The interrogation of the accused further revealed that they wanted to live a lavish life so they started committing the crime. The accused used the money on buying drugs.
