New Delhi: After analyzing 30 phone numbers, questioning more than 50 villagers and visiting more than five districts, Delhi police was able to trace a girl after six years.
According to the police, the girl went missing in 2012 and her age was 16 years. During the course of the investigation, it was revealed that one Faujdar had kidnapped the girl. Efforts were made to trace the minor girl and accused Faujdar but they couldn't be traced. The accused Faujdar was declared Proclaimed Offender by the court.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Dwarka) Shibesh Singh stated that the police continued their probe and the investigation officer scanned several phone numbers for several years after which 30 numbers were found common. "During the investigation, we found 29 numbers had stopped working and one number was working. The person did not tell anything about the accused," said an investigator.
After calling the number several times, the person gave another number who was traced to Uttar Pradesh from where the police team got the number of the girl and told that she was living in a different place. "Police team reached Uttar Pradesh and searched almost five districts and talked to over 50 villagers. They had changed their names. Police was able to find out the location through the phone number and reached Lalitpur in Uttar Pradesh and traced the girl," said the investigator, adding that they had also gone through several agricultural lands in search of the girl.
Police further claimed that Faujdar fled and hid in the agricultural field from where he was nabbed. He was 23 when he eloped with the minor girl and later they married and settled down. They lived at various places in Uttar Pradesh but for last two years, they were living in Beharich.
