Sewer line completed in just two years: Uttam Nagar MLA

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, on the sideline of his Uttam Nagar rally, informed residents of Nawada that their anxious wait for the sewer line finally came to an end after the construction of the sewer line was completed.

"Residents of Uttam Nagar's unauthorised colonies were waiting for the sewer line for more than 20 odd years. We have completed the work in two years and have also saved Rs 60 crore in the process," said Uttam Nagar MLA Naresh Balyan.

He also stated that the previous governments had claimed that the line, which passes through Vipin Garden, could not be undertaken because the Indian oil line also passes through the same line.

"I have held conversations with both the Delhi Jal Board and officials from Indian Oil. After conducting five meetings, we got all the necessary permissions," he added.

Balyan further asked Water minister Kapil Mishra and Kejriwal to waive off the development fee of the sewerage line.

To this, Mishra gave a tongue-in-cheek reply, saying: "Balyan has five wards under his control. I have faced a lot of problems in just setting up the water lines because we had to go around asking for permissions from various agencies. Give me my permissions to set up the water supply line and we will waive off the development charge."
