NEW DELHI: Seven men involved in robbing a cash collection agent of Rs 12 lakh in south east Delhi's Govindpuri have been arrested, Delhi Police said on Saturday.
Around 2.15 pm on March 15, when the victim was collecting cash on his assigned route, he was kicked off his motorcycle by a man at Ravi Dass Marg in Govindpuri.
The man then threatened him on knife point, robbed his cash-filled bag and fled away.
After examining CCTV footage, police identified the accused as Sunil, a resident of Jaitpur Extension, who was arrested the next day.
Rs 36,000 was recovered from Sunil's possession and, based on his tip, six more accused were nabbed and Rs 4.66 lakh recovered off them.
DCP (South East) Chinmoy Biswal said that Ajay Thakur, the leader of the gang, had recently misappropriated around Rs 2 lakh from the gas delivery agency he worked for.
