New Delhi: SDMC launched four health check-up vans on Friday, in an effort to provide basic accessible health-care to citizens in their district. South Delhi Commissioner Punit Kumar Goel flagged off the vans, two of which are
general health check-up vans, and two dental and eye check-up vans.
One general health check-up van and one dental and eye check-up van will be dedicated to school children, while the other two will be for the general public. Then Mayor Kamaljeet Sehrawat had sanctioned an amount of Rs 96 lakh out of her discretionary fund, out of which a total of 88.2 lakh has been spent on these vans.
Sehrawat said that she was confident of the vans' capability to cater to children and the general public in large numbers.
