New Delhi: DS Mishra, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has said that Centre is doing all-out efforts to earn a better than best ranking in ease of doing business (EODB) in respect of sanction of construction permits by the local bodies in the country hence, it becomes duty of all the stakeholders to seriously involve themselves to percolate down the benefits of reforms undertaken to the permit seekers.
While addressing an interactive session on Tuesday evening at Civic Centre, Mishra stated that we must get the raking which we deserve.
He added that there is still a scope to improve ranking by making the Architects, Engineers and beneficiaries more capable to reflect the efficacy of the online system coupled with common application form before the Word Bank team visits India probably in the month of May to reassess the ranking. There had been a bit incomplete reflection which could not yield the desired ranking during the last visit of the team.
The SDMC Commissioner took questions of the architects and gave them suitable tips to make the system more and more user friendly. The Corporation has been sanctioning construction permits in single day I.E. within 24 hours. 1,130 sanctions have been issued online within 24 hours of filing online application.
"Our efficiency reflects from the fact that recently introduced process of star rating by architects has made it crystal clear that out of 3491 cases, in 2276 cases Star Rating was given. The number of forms reduced last year from 39 to 14 have been further reduced to just seven. SDMC is committed to work with transparency and honesty to achieve a better ranking for the country," said the Commissioner.
