New Delhi: "Policemen should learn to say 'No' to corruption and learn to fight temptations which tries to lure them into malpractices like bribery. The good and honest policemen are very well remembered by society. The officers both senior and junior should understand that maximum number of policemen are hard-working and honest, however, it is just because of a corrupted few that the entire force is lectured for image makeover," Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, said on the occasion of the observance of the Vigilance Awareness Week-2019, a 1-day sensitisation workshop on anti-corruption awareness for Delhi Police personnel at NDMC convention center in Delhi.

A presentation on "Corruption Mindset" by Special CP, Vigilance followed by a lecture on "Aberrations in the functioning of Delhi Police observed during various enquiries and investigations" – by Dr OP Mishra, Addl. CP (EOW). Special CP Traffic Taj Hasan was also present in the programme.

A first and a very bold step of acknowledging the systemic malady of corruption that prevails in a minor percentage of the force has been the making of short training film – "Integrity – Our Sense Of Pride". The first screening of the training film was done on Friday by the CP, Delhi.

The film was a reflection of how the police officers are lured into corrupt practices by offering bribes but how they should boldly turn down every lucrative looking offer as this might one day affect themselves as a society.

Three technical training sessions were also conducted by faculty from the CBI Academy Inspector Mukesh Kumar and DSP Sanjay Gautam on "Consequences of corruption – legal and otherwise", "Latest rulings of the Hon'ble Supreme Court on corruption and a brief overview of POC Act" and "Handling electronic evidence during enquiry and investigation of corruption cases".
