New Delhi: A person was injured after he was shot at in Karol Bagh's restaurant, police said on Sunday. The investigating agency said that the suspect fired four-five rounds in the case. According to police, the victim was identified as Akash, resident of Karol Bagh. He is the manager of the restaurant where the incident was reported.
Police said that the incident was reported on Saturday when the suspect named Kunal came inside the restaurant and threatened the victim with the pistol. "The suspect told something related to billing and shot two rounds which hit the stomach of the victim," the complainant told the police.
When the complainant tried to avert the incident, the assailant told him, "I am the boss of this area and nobody asks me for bill" and fired at him.
"Somehow I saved myself from the other two rounds which were fired at me," complainant further told the investigating agency. After the incident people tried to catch the suspect but he flees from there. After the incident chaos erupted in the restaurant and police was alerted about the firing. The victim was rushed to the hospital for the treatment. A case has been registered in this regard.
According to the complainant, the suspect in the case always roams around the restaurant. They always had arguments over the money. Akash had always told them to stop their insolence behaviour.
Investigations are also underway to ascertain if it was a fight that led to the firing or if it was "planned", police said, adding that they are also looking for CCTV footage available, if any, to ascertain the sequence of events.
