Gurugram: A rapid response team has been set up by the health department to tackle vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria that seems to spike during this season. As of now, there are five confirmed cases of dengue while there have been fifty suspected cases. Preparations have already begun for early fogging. There are teams that have been formed by Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG) to detect the presence of larvae across the four municipal zones into which the city is divided.

Ironically, a large presence of larvae has been found across the posh areas of the city. Areas that have been termed as highly prone areas for vector-borne diseases in the city are DLF, Sushant-Lok, South- City, Sector -31 and Palam –Vihar.

Last year because of a large number of patients suffering from dengue and chikungunya there was a shortage of beds in the city hospitals.
