New Delhi: The process of the psychological autopsy has started in the mass suicide case where 11 people of the same family died inside the house in North Delhi's Burari area in July 2018. Police claimed that they have submitted all the necessary documents regarding the case to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL). Police sources confirmed that the documents including 10 registers and postmortem reports of all the victims were submitted to CFSL who have started checking the details and started profiling the victims to understand the individual's mental state around the time of death. "CFSL experts may question a few people in this regard. Meanwhile, the documents are very long and will take some time," said one of the investigators.
On July 1, eleven people of the same family including minors were found hanging from an iron grill in a hall on the first floor of a three-story building in North Delhi's Sant Nagar near Burari. All of them had pieces of cloth tied over their eyes, leading police to probe the case from all angles including murder and suicide. During the search of the house, certain handwritten notes have been found which pointed towards observance of some definite spiritual, mystical practices by the whole family. "Coincidentally, these notes have the strong similarity with the manner in which the mouths, eyes of the deceased were tied and taped," added police.
"During the investigation, it was found that Lalit (deceased) had delusion and he used to talk like his father who died several years ago and the family members used to write on the registers," said the investigators.
