Ghaziabad: The family members and relatives of the five-year-old girl, who was found murdered and stuffed inside a plastic bag on the adjacent roof to her house in Ghaziabad's Khoda area, staged a protest on Sunday morning demanding justice and compensation.
The family members of the deceased along with their relatives and locals blocked NH-24 road for over an hour by putting the dead body on the road. This created a massive traffic jam for more than 5 kilometers before they were pacified by senior police officials.
Protesters alleged that the police neither responded to their queries nor working out the case properly. "We need justice and the persons behind the alleged murder should be booked under law", they demanded.
Officials of police and civil administration reached the spot and pacified the agitated family members who after getting assurances from police and administrative officials lifted the blockade and took the body for last rites.
The five-year-old girl, a student of class LKG at a private school went missing around 8 pm on August 2. Her family said their neighbors alerted them on Saturday morning after they spotted a bag on the roof of the adjacent house.
As they reached the roof, they found the body of their kin stuffed inside the bag. The house belongs to victim's uncle. The family said that they suspect a 32-year-old driver of a cab, who was their former tenant, as an accused behind the incident.
Meanwhile, the Ghaziabad police on Sunday said that the postmortem reports have confirmed injuries in private part and victim's genitals which indicates sexual assault with the girl. "The autopsy reports confirmed sexual assault with the victim. We have registered a case based on the complaint given by victim's family members and are searching various locations to nab the suspected cab driver," said a senior police official.
