Noida: Acting strict on the identified criminals in the district, the Gautam Buddh Nagar administration on Thursday announced attachment of movable and immovable properties of 566 gangsters and stop their financial transactions.
According to a senior officer of the administration, the action has been taken as per the sections 14 and 15 of the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act, 1986.
According to the act, the "ill gotten" property, both movable and immovable, and wealth has been attached.
Brijesh Narayan Singh, District Magistrate, Gautam Buddh Nagar, said, "We have identified 566 persons operating in 150 different criminal gangs. These persons have been booked in various criminals cases by the police since May 1, 2017."
"The list includes mafias, builders who are involved in cheating, drug peddling and cyber frauds," he added.
The Magistrate further told reporters that they have directed all the departments to stop all the financial transactions to these people and said to make their names public.
