Noida: The Gautam Buddh Nagar district administration is working hard to ascertain the actual cause which landed around 25 students of Step by Step school in sector 132 in hospital after they consumed the mid day meal. The district magistrate on Friday formed different teams to probe into the matter and meet the parents of the victim students in order to record their statements.
Also, the district food and supply department has taken samples of the edible items used in the food and has sent them for forensic tests.
According to the officials, samples of paratha and oil used for breakfast have been taken and sent for testing, reports of which are expected to be out in a week.
"The teams have taken samples of various edibles that were used to prepare the breakfast and have sent them for inspection. The testing is carried out to ascertain which of the ingredients was responsible for the incident. If the food samples fail, strict action will be taken against the school," said B N Singh, district magistrate, G B Nagar.
The police along with the food and health department officials of the district visited different hospitals to find out the exact number of children fallen sick and revealed that there are now just three kids who are still admitted to hospital. Two of them are at Max hospital while one is getting treatment in Jaypee hospital, Noida.
"Till now, we have received complaint from only one parent of a student. We have registered an FIR against the school under IPC sections 328 (causing hurt by means of poison). We are trying to meet the families of the students to record their statements to further investigate the case," said Vedpal Singh Pundir, Station House Officer of Expressway police station. Pundir further said that through investigation it was found that more than 100 kids had fallen victim to the stale food on Thursday.
Meanwhile, a Noida-based association of parents has demanded to revoke the license of Step by Step school for such irresponsibility.
