One arrested in trafficking case of 16 Nepalese women

New Delhi: Delhi Police on Friday claimed to have made a breakthrough in the case where 16 women were rescued from south Delhi's Munirka area on Tuesday with the arrest of an accused believed to be a driver.

Sources claimed that the accused have contacts in other countries and they were bringing the Nepalese women in India.

Cops added the accused is being questioned about how many women were sent to Arab countries.

The accused reportedly used to take women to the airport in his car, from where they were sent to other countries.

"Raids are going on in different places to nab other accused," police said.

The complaint copy of the case accessed by Millennium Post stated that the victims were told by the traffickers to lie to authorities at the Indo-Nepal border and were promised of Rs 20,000 for working in another country.
