Noida: On the occasion of Uttar Pradesh Diwas, residents of Noida on Wednesday were gifted with three mega infrastructure development projects, namely a multi-level car parking facility in Sector 18, an underpass between Sectors 60 and 61 near Fortis hospital and another underpass between Sectors 94 and 95.
Noida Authority officials said the parking will commence operations only across three floors, two basements and the first floor.
"Although the facility is almost ready, the installation work of the lift is underway, due to which all six floors are not yet open. The entire facility will be opened to the public in 15-20 days", said an official.
The three projects, built at a total cost of Rs 532 crore, were inaugurated at an official ceremony at Mahamaya Inter College in Sector-44.
Uttar Pradesh Excise Minister Jai Pratap Singh, Union Civil Aviation Minister Mahesh Sharma, Noida MLA Pankaj Singh, Jewar MLA Dhirendra Singh, Dadri MLA Tejpal Nagar and senior officials of the Noida Authority were present at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, Sharma said, "The Bharatiya Janata Party came to power focusing on the agenda of development. We are trying to keep moving with that theme. Apart from these projects, we are focused on developing various new ones so that Gautam Buddh Nagar district may create its own identity in Uttar Pradesh".
"All the projects will provide major relief to commuters from traffic congestion," added Sharma.
The multi-level car parking will clear parking woes in Sector-18, while the underpass between Sectors 60 and 61 will make the stretch between Sectors 71 and Model Town signal-free.
The underpass between Sectors 94 and 95 is expected to reduce traffic flow at Kalindi Kunj and Mahamaya Flyover.
Foundations were also laid for three other projects at the ceremony. These include an underpass between Sectors 96 and 126 under the Noida-Greater Noida Expressway and two new industrial sectors along the Expressway in Sectors 155 and 156.
