Nurse's death: ST panel takes up AIIMS doc's sacking

Update: 2017-04-11 18:11 GMT
The National Commission for Scheduled Tribes has decided to take up with the AIIMS authorities the issue of a resident doctor's sacking over a pregnant staff nurse's death during treatment.

The commission has called for a joint sitting with the AIIMS authorities and the doctor whose services were terminated on April 19. The commission said it has received a complaint that action against doctor Neisevile Nisa was taken because he belongs to a Scheduled Tribe while others were let off. Nisa, who was working with the anesthesia department of the AIIMS, belongs to the Angami tribe of Nagaland.
