New Delhi: A 91-year-old retired government official was kidnapped by his domestic help and his associates in the Greater Kailash area of South Delhi on Saturday evening. Police have detained suspects in the case.
The accused used refrigerator to stuff the elderly man and then kidnapped him and fled away on tempo.
During interrogation, the suspects claimed that they have strangled the elderly man in the home and then took away his body with them. "Accused claimed that they have strangled the elderly man. We cannot confirm it as the victim is yet to be traced," said Joint CP.
Police identified the victim as Krishna Khosla. He lived with his wife in the GK area. The main conspirator in the case was Kishan (domestic help), who is from Bihar, had been working at Khosla's home for more than a year.
According to police on the day of incident Krishna and his wife were drugged by the Kishan. "The domestic help allegedly offered the couple tea laced with sedatives. The couple lost consciousness," police said.
Kishan informed his other associates. Later, four-five men arrived in a tempo, entered the home and committed robbery.
The matter came to limelight on Sunday after the victim's wife regained consciousness. She found her husband and domestic help missing. The elderly woman alerted other people about the incident.
Several teams were formed to nab the criminals. Singh further said that one of the deceased's son lives in Australia whereas other lives in South Delhi. Police after manhunt detained few suspects in the case.
Joint CP further stated that they are investigating the reason behind the crime.
"Whether the motive of the crime was a financial gain or something else. After the questioning things will be cleared," police said. A case has been registered in this regard in GK police station.
