Noida: Residents of various posh sectors of Noida have complained that the water being supplied to them is inadequate and of very poor quality, over past few days, increasing the risk to various water-borne diseases.
According to the residents, the water supply to their houses has been contaminated and they get black coloured, foul smelling water whenever they open their taps. They also alleged that the authority has not arranged any water tankers for them which have forced them to buy water from the market to meet their basic needs.
"Even after the hiked prices of water by the Noida authority, we are getting dirty water for the past three days. Forget drinking, the water is not suitable for bathing or even washing clothes. Looking at the color of the water flowing through the taps, it looks like we are getting a direct supply from a gutter as the water is totally black or dark brown in color. We are forced to buy expensive water bottles to use it for bathing and other basic needs" said Gulab Singh Bhati, a resident of sector 20 Noida.
Residents also claimed that the problem of dirty water supply in these sectors in not new as they have been battling with a poor supply of water from past many years.
The residents appealed to Noida authority to address the issue at the earliest.
