The Noida Authority has filed a police complaint against Bank of India after the bank unauthorisedly released Rs 3.80 crore against an amount of Rs 200 crore deposited as FD.
The Bank of India in Noida, sector 62 had provided relevant documents after creating the FD to the Noida Authority. After the FD had
matured, Noida Authority would have been the beneficiary. However, the bank released Rs 3.80 crore to the other three parties without the Authority’s consent.
Consequently, the Noida Authority filed the complaint in Noida, sector 58 police station. The police are inquiring into the matter.
The bank has now assured the authority in writing that it will return the amount of Rs 200 crore at the earliest possible and claimed it has not caused any financial loss to the authority.
The Noida Authority has set up a three-member committee of senior officers including the assistant chief executive
officer and chief legal advisor under the assistant chief executive officer (M) to probe the issue.
The committee will report to the chief executive officer of the Noida Authority within 15 days.
