Ghaziabad: Sudhir Kumar Singh, a 2009-batch IPS officer, took charge as Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) of Ghaziabad District on Wednesday. Singh had been serving as Muzaffarnagar SSP while former Ghaziabad SSP Upendra Kumar Agarwal, who was promoted to the post of DIG in January this year, has been transferred to Saharanpur range.
Soon after taking charge, he told the media that crime control and establishing the rule of law would be his top priorities.
"I will make sure that all the government run campaigns on women safety and maintaining law and order must be properly implemented in the district. We will make sure that no stone would be left unturned to ensure women's and children's safety in the district," said Singh
"We will also act strict against the organised criminal gangs operating in the district. Also appropriate action would be initiated to check cyber crimes and incidents of snatching. Efforts will also be made to curb the problem of traffic snarls in the district and property related crimes," added Singh.
Singh, on Wednesday, also conducted a foot march along with other senior officials of the district in posh sectors and main markets of Ghaziabad. SP city, Ghaziabad, Shlok Kumar and other senior officials were present with the newly posted officer in the district.
Singh, had served as circle officer (CO) in Ghaziabad between 1994 and 1997.
