Noida: The Noida authority, on Tuesday, signed a MoU for Dumpsite Remediation and Management with 'Zigma Global Environment Solutions Pvt Ltd', a Tamil Nadu-based company, for treatment and recycling of Municipal Solid Waste. The MoU is signed for clearing of entire legacy waste and handing over the reclaimed land free from all pollutants within 2 years, said a senior authority official.
According to a senior official of Noida Authority, the municipal solid waste collected from various landfills of the city will be supplied to the processing plant for treatment. The Noida Authority will provide 6.5 tonnes of garbage waste to the company within the two years and the company charged the authority at Rs 1193 per ton. The two components thus produced- compost and refuse-derived fuel (RDF), will be made out of the garbage after processing and will be utilized.
"The part of RDF produced after treatment of solid waste will be sold to a cement factory while some of it will be used to make bricks, fill potholes on city roads and other civic works. The move will not only end the problem of garbage in the city but will also cater the fresh Garbage in a scientific manner to save precious land," said R K Mishra,
