Man tries to kill self near Rajnath Singh's residence

NEW DELHI: A 42-year-old man, reported to be mentally unstable, on Friday tried to commit suicide by slashing both his wrists outside Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh's residence here 
Seeing the man in a semi-conscious state, a police call was immediately made by onlookers.
After receiving the call, a patrol party rushed the spot and took the injured man from 17, Akbar Road, to nearby Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital.
Doctors said the man's condition was stable and he is now out of danger.
The man was identified as Raj Kumar, a resident of Mukherjee Nagar in Delhi.
Police are reaching out to his friends and relatives, so that the extent of his mental condition and the reason for the extreme step could be ascertained.
They are also verifying whether he is suffering from depression.
"Raj Kumar appears to be mentally unstable and, in an incoherently written complaint, he alleged surveillance on him through satellite and GPS," said a senior police officer. The man has been kept under observation and doctors are monitoring his condition.
