New Delhi: The Delhi Police have arrested a 43-year-old man who was supplying avil injections to children without any authorisation or prescription in South Delhi's Kotla Mubarakpur area.
Police identified the accused as Pankaj. To nab the criminals, a decoy customer was sent to purchase avil injection from accused, who went to park and purchased avil injection, one syringe and one addnok tablet from Pankaj for Rs 200.
"At the same time police party apprehended Pankaj and recovered Rs 200 note given to him by juvenile. On casual search of Pankaj 46 more avil injections, three dispo van syringe and 8 tablets of addnok were recovered," said police.
Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Parvinder Singh said that the accused is previously involved in 8 criminal cases of theft and Arms Act. He earlier used to reside in Lodhi Colony area but now living in rented accomodation in Garhi. The team under SHO Kotla Mubarakpur inspector Ajay Negi made the arrest.
Police added that these injections are meant for allergy relief but Pankaj was selling it to juveniles, drug addicts at higher prices without prescription or authrization.
The combination of above injections, drugs costs about 70 or 80 rupees but the accused person used to sell the combination without prescription for Rs 200 .
"He also revealed that he had purchased these injections from one Zakir who is also a drug addict and seller of such injections," said Singh.
