Man held for murdering his 62-year-old mother

Greater Noida: Following the murder case of a 62-year-old woman by her son on early Monday morning, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police have arrested the 35-year-old accused son for allegedly murdering his mother and a brother with an iron rod, from Jarchha area of Greater Noida late on Monday morning. The accused has confessed to have murdered the duo over property dispute while one other brother is still fighting for his life in the hospital, said police.
According to the police, the accused has been identified as Ajit,an MBA and currently working on temporary basis with Axis Bank employee, was nabbed around10:15 pm from Jewar Under pass when he was trying to flee in his swift car.
"We had got information that he was trying to flee the district after committing the crime. A team was formed and we were able to trace and nab him from the Jewar under pass. We have recovered the car and also the iron rod which he used for committing the crime," said Suniti, Superintendent Of police, (Rural). During interrogation, the accused revealed that he was the eldest of the three brothers and took all the family decisions on money.
"One of his brothers had got married just 2 month back and was allegedly pressing him for division of property and money, so he was against it. His mother Shakuntala Devi was forcing him to divide the property and regular fights was happening at their house," said Suniti. On Monday morning around 6am in Rasoolpur village of Jarcha, Ajit first attacked his mother Shakuntala and younger brother Pushpendra, who were asleep in one room. He hit both of them multiple times on their head.
"He called Jitender out of his room on the pretext to have a word and attacked him too. He then tried to attack Jitenter's wife who somehow manged to escape and inform the neighbors. Ajit had fled the spot while three were rushed to a nearby hospital," said Suniti.
One of the two brothers, battling for their lives has succumbed to his injuries in the hospital. "Shakuntala was declared brought dead on arrival on Monday while Pushpendra was shifted to Safdarjang Hospital in Delhi but he also died on Tuesdaymorning. Jitender is stated to be critical," said Suniti.
