New Delhi: A 28-year-old man was arrested in a case of double murder reported in Jyoti Nagar area. Police identified the accused as Avnish. He was arrested from Mandoli area.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (crime) Rajesh Deo said that after completion of graduation, Avnish came in contact with one Anil. Both of them were having enmity with one Govinda Bhati, a gym trainer.
"They (Avnish and Anil) wanted to maintain their dominance in the area of Meet Nagar, but Govinda was obstructing them," said DCP (crime) Rajesh Deo.
The DCP further said that Govinda had also beaten Anil. To take revenge, accused Avnish and Anil hatched a conspiracy along with other associates. On May 29, they shot Govinda while he was coming to his house along with his two other friends from gym.
During this incident, one passerby also sustained gunshot injuries and succumbed to their injuries.
The accused persons also inflected injuries with sharp weapon on Govinda's face and other parts of the body to take revenge.
