NEW DELHI: A 42-year-old man has committed suicide inside RML hospital bathroom allegedly by hanging himself. The man was undergoing treatment at RML for a serious medical condition and was admitted in ward number 18.
Police said that the victim committed suicide on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday. When the police reached the spot he was found hanging inside the bathroom. The body has been sent for postmortem. The man identified as Hariram Yadav, is a resident of Siwan, Bihar. "It is still unclear what prompted him to take the extreme step, we have sent the body for postmortem and are also taking the statements of his relatives to know more about the possible reason," said a senior police officer. Sources said that Hariram was depressed due to his life threatening disease and allegedly committed suicide after being unable to cop up with it. It is said that Hariram was admitted to the ward on the fourth floor and sneaked inside the bathroom without anyone noticing him. It was then he allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself.
