Man found dead at his room in Lajpat Nagar

New Delhi: A man was found dead at his room in South East Delhi's Lajpat Nagar area. Police said that a sharp cut was seen on the backside of the deceased's neck. According to police, they received information on Tuesday from one A K Datta, landlord of the old double-storey building in Lajpat Nagar IV that one person was lying and he presumes that the person was dead.

"Police reached the spot and found the body was lying on the third floor of the building and blood was on the floor. Sharp cut was seen on the backside of the neck," police said.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (South East) Chinmoy Biswal said that during the course of the inquiry, the deceased was identified as Sunil Tamang (28)of Nepal origin. Deceased was working in a restaurant and living in the room with his partner for last one year.

"On Monday, his partner went to meet her friend at Greater Noida at 11.30 pm On Tuesday at about 2 pm when she came back she found the door was not locked from inside and when she entered she found the deceased," added DCP Biswal. Adding further he stated that crime team as well as dog squad team were called at the spot. They inspected the scene of the crime. The body was sent to AIIMS mortuary and a case of murder has been registered while the investigation is underway.
