Gurugram: A man belonging to minority community was beaten in his home with sticks by a group of 12 men in Bhondsi near Gurugram. The violence occurred as one of the men in the group was angry of being hit by a cricket ball. The police have booked charges against the culprits but as of now no arrests have been made in the case.

As the videos of the man being beaten mercilessly got circulated in social media platforms, there was widespread criticism of the poor law and order situation in the state.

"A man being beaten black and blue in the broad day light reflects the inefficiency of Manohar Lal government. This is the real face of the government that came to power on the plank of crime free Haryana," said Ashok Tanwar, the Indian National Congress state president. Tanwar also did not shy away in making a strong statement against the Prime Minister on the poor law and order situation in the state.

Incidents of rage and violence in the neighbourbood is not a new phenomenon in Gurugram. There have been incidents in the past where it has also resulted in the murder. In 2018, in the posh area of the city, a guard and another killed a person after there was a scuffle as the deceased was trying to enter a restricted neighbourhood.

In the same year, a group of youngsters ransacked contractor's house after there was a tiff over parking. The murderous rage was to such an extent that during the time of assault the home was occupied by contractor's wife and daughter. Yet, there no decency was shown by the accused.
