Law and order under control, Delhi Police to Kejriwal

New Delhi: Countering the views of Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal that the law and order situation in the city is deteriorating, the Delhi Police claimed that law and order in the national capital is under control. The CM through his twitter account had tweeted "law and order in the capital of India is deteriorating by the day. BJP has completely failed."

The tweet came after the two incident where a girl hanged herself inside a police post in West Delhi and a woman allegedly jumped from the terrace and died in Hauz Khas area.

Reacting to the issue, the Delhi Police tweeted that "Law and order in National Capital is under control. The years 2018 & 2017 have seen reduction in Heinous Crimes as compared to earlier years. Similarly, there is substantial reduction in Street crime & detection rate of heinous crimes has also improved @LtGovDelhi @ArvindKejriwal."

The police further tweeted that "With regard to the two specific incidents, it is clarified that the Girl had come as complainant to the police post of her own and regarding second incident, investigation of the case is in progress and necessary action as per law is being taken."

The incident where the girl hanged her self at the police post falls in West Delhi which is being seen by Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vijay Kumar who tweeted that "It is clarified that the girl had come to police post on her own at around 2:30 AM. At that time, her family members were also at the PP and continued to be in the PP until this unfortunate incident happened. Enquiry by Learned Judicial Magistrate is on. @ArvindKejriwal @LtGovDelhi".

Meanwhile, the NHRC has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports where a class-XII student committed suicide inside the Tilak Vihar Police Station in Delhi on the July 15 and sent notice to Delhi Police Commissioner in this regard.
