New Delhi: On the last day of the hunger strike, Jawaharlal Nehru University Teachers' Association (JNUTA) called for intensifying their protst on Wednesday and organise a pad yatra to Parliament from JNU on Friday.
JNUTA said that the administration has not reached out in any manner to the teachers sitting on the hunger strike, let alone take any action to ensure their medical well being.
In a statement, JNUTA said, "Take all steps to ensure social justice, gender justice and natural justice. There have been a series of violations of various constitutional provisions, JNU Act, Statues and Ordinaces undermining justice.
"These pertain to seat cuts, undermining of affirmative action, changes in the roaster of faculty positions, manipulation of the list of panel of experts, dismantling of GSCASH, supersession of dean and chairperson, arbitrariness in faculty promotions and renewal of wardenships and targeting and victimization of individual teachers."
The Association further demanded the withdrawal of all circulars that have been issued without consultation and approval of the relevant bodies of the university.
