Involved in more than 100 cases, man arrested from Preet Vihar

New Delhi: In past eight years, 36-year-old Deshraj has been involved in more than 115 cases of auto thefts. He was so confident that he used to came to Delhi in the bus and went back in a stolen vehicle which he sold in another state. Even after committing several crimes he did not escape from the clutches of Delhi Police as he was arrested from Preet Vihar.
 Deputy Commissioner of Police (East) Pankaj Singh stated that the accused has disclosed that he used to carry the helmet in his bag and whenever and wherever he got an opportunity, use to steal two-wheeler and disposed off through his associates in Meerut.
"Accused Desh Raj used to steal motorcycles particularly from outside the banks and the commercial places. He used to take only 2/3 minutes to unlock or break the lock of two-wheelers with the help of the different keys," said the DCP adding that he used to come to Delhi/Ghaziabad by bus or metro from his home and go back on the stolen two-wheeler to Meerut to dispose off. 14 cases M.V.Theft of Delhi-NCR have been worked out. Efforts are being made to trace his associates.
