New Delhi: Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on Thursday reviewed the Crime and Criminal Tracking Network and Systems (CCTNS) project of the Delhi Police at a in law and order meeting.
The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Anshu Prakash, Additional Chief Secretary (Home), Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, as well as Special and Joint Commissioners of Delhi Police.
According to a press statement by Raj Niwas, the Special Commissioner (Crime) gave a detailed presentation and apprised the LG about the present status of the CCTNS project implementation.
He further said that phase-I of the project will be completed by November 30.
Baijal was further informed that the Core Application Software (CAS) for the project has been upgraded from version 3.0 to 4.5.
The press statement further said that Baijal was apprised of the features of the upgraded CAS, which include real-time data entry, faster search and query, improved and comprehensive statistical reports.
The LG was also informed that migration of nearly 7.6 lakh FIR's from the Common Integrated Police Application (CIPA) to CCTNS has been completed.
Moreover, databanks on senior citizens in the Capital (36,825) and registered sex offenders (2,503) have been made available in the CCTNS Databank Services.
Baijal directed Delhi Police that implementation of the CCTNS project must be carried out in a time-bound manner and stipulated deadlines for different activities must be fixed and strictly adhered to.
He further stated that the benefits of CCTNS must accrue in the form of better service delivery to the citizens, besides improving the efficiency of Delhi Police in matters of investigation.
Baijal also said that the Citizen Portal should be further refurbished accordingly with well-defined timelines. Finally, the LG stressed the need for a security audit to ensure safety of data.
