Ghaziabad: At least a hundred shantis were gutted in fire after a small LPG cylinder blasted in Kanawani village in Indirapuram area of Ghaziabad on early Tuesday morning.
However the police succeeded to douse the flames by afternoon. According to police, a small LPG cylinder blasted in a jhuggi on Tuesday and the community caught fire which gutted hundreds. However, no causality was reported in the incident but goods worth lakhs was charred in the incident, said police. The incident took place in slum behind Divyansh Society in Indirapuram on Tuesday morning. There is suspected blast in small size LPG gas cylinder and it caught fire. The blast was too strong that the fire spread in nearby area.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Ghaziabad, Vaibhav Krishna, SP City Akash Tomar, CO Indirapuram Dharmendra Chauhan and other cops reached on spot and inspected the site. The relief work was started immediately.
