Noida: Vexed by delayed possession of their 'dream home', scores of homebuyers from two different residential projects of Noida staged protest outside their respective builders' project on Sunday afternoon.
The aggrieved homebuyers demanded action against their builder's group and pointed out that despite several assurances and various announcements nothing much has changed on ground.
In the first incident, over hundred homebuyers protestes against non-completion of the Today Homes Ridge residency, in Noida's Sector-135.
On Sunday, morning homebuyers gathered at the site of the project, raising slogans against the builder, and then marched towards the Expressway police station, seeking action against the builder for failing to deliver the flats.
"The builder cheated thousands of homebuyers, as there has been a significant delay in completion of the project. He has been giving us deadline after deadline, for the completion without honouring it. Even police is not taking action despite many FIRs being lodged," said Rajesh Sharma, an aggrieved homebuyer.
According to the protesters, the project was launched in 2009-10 and its completion was scheduled for 2013-14. For the last two years, construction work at the site has been stalled and there are no signs of early completion of the project, alleged the homebuyers at the protest site.
However, police assured them that the builder would be served notice to be present at the police station for a meeting with the buyers on April 28.
In the second protest on the same day, buyers demonstrated at the site of their Festival City residential project by Bhasin group in Noida's Sector-143B.
The buyers were annoyed over delayed possession and stalled construction work at the site, further alleging that the builder did not keep up his promise to provide assured return till possession.
The protest at Sector-143B was led under the banner of Noida Extension Flat Owner's Main Association.
