NEW DELHI: Crime Branch has arrested a sharp shooter of Hitender Singh Rawat gang who has been identified as Deepak, a resident of Rohini, Kanjhawla Road, Delhi aged 35 years after a brief scuffle near Begumpur Chowk.
The Delhi Police received information that some members of notorious Hitender Singh Rawat were regrouping and planning to commit some big robberies in Delhi and NCR in order to finance associates lodged in jail and to meet their other expenses. On this information, a team was formed by cops.
Acting on the specific information, a person was signaled to stop near Begam Pur Chowk but he whipped out a pistol, and tried to fire at the police party but was apprehended well before he could fire at the police party. "During interrogation, it was revealed that the accused was involved in a sensational murder case of PS Hauz Qazi, in which one Vijay Yadav who was a Bad Character of Hauz Qazi and used to extort from the builders of old Delhi area was murdered," said Joint CP Crime, Alok Kumar.
"The builders were so fed up with the extortion of Vijay Yadav that they hatched a plan to eliminate him. Accordingly, some prominent builders of the area hired contract killers of Hitender alias chhotu gang of Ghaziabad (UP) and gave supari of rupees one crore to Hitender Singh Rawat @ Chhotu to eliminate Vijay Yadav. Deepak was then roped in the murder in 2007," Alok
